Lyrics & music; Henrik W, Parua Bay, New Zealand, September 2001
In a beautiful bay.
The location was perfect, and so was the view.
So I wanted to stay,
then when I turned the corner my eyes fell on you,
and you seemed to say That's why I'm here
and I started revolving round Mir.
Mir's not counting the days.
Mir is floating through space with a smile on her face.
There are so many ways
to expand your horizon, she's out of the race,
but she'll win in the end, have no fear.
And my heart keeps revolving round Mir.
Mir is watching the earth
from the other side, simply to see what it's worth.
They've sent men to the moon,
and I won't be surprised if she's going there soon,
as I'm watching the full moon appear;
and my heart keeps revolving round Mir.
Mir is drifting alone;
she can dock up with others, and she can break loose,
It's a mellowish tone
from a classical oboe that's playing the blues
and it's just what my heart wants to hear
when my heart keeps revolving round Mir.
All things come to an end.
And a nomad will no matter know this implies
that she may find a friend,
but it's mostly a series of speedy goodbyes,
with no fear that a tear will appear.
And my heart keeps revolving round Mir.
Mir is out there to learn,
To collect all the facts, and compare, analyze.
Got no bridges to burn.
And eventually she will tell men from mice,
(in the meantime please give me some cheese!)
While my heart keeps revolving round Mir's.
The curriculum here:
is it social intelligence or social law?
What will matter to Mir?
What she did, what she heard, what she said, what she saw?
What is shaping a life or career?
All these things keep revolving round Mir.
It's a foreign affair.
It's an old dancing bear on the wings of a prayer.
I'm pretending to care,
but it's burning a hole in my heart's ozone layer.
Am I in love or just insincere
when my heart keeps revolving round Mir?
Soon she'll put on her boots.
'Cause she knows where to stay, and she knows when to leave.
She a rose with no roots.
I'm the joker who's wearing my heart on my sleeve.
She's a space lab that no one can steer...
but they may start revolving round Mir.
